Our Story

This historic building and property has been serving Baileys Harbor residents and guests as a community hall / general store / restaurant / bar / saloon since around 1908.

Harbor Fish Market & Grille was established in this historic building in the year 2000, by Carl and Karen Berndt.

In June 2022, Scott and Sarah Bennett purchased the property and restaurant business and are thrilled to continue Harbor Fish Market’s longstanding Door County traditions. They had been seasonal residents of Baileys Harbor since late 2016, and long-time patrons of Harbor Fish Market & Grille where they felt that special, albeit magical, feeling every time they visited with their two young girls, Grace and Jade. Since moving up to Baileys full-time in June 2022 to operate the restaurant, Scott and Sarah got to fulfill a life-long dream of entrepreneurship in their favorite place – Baileys Harbor, Door County.

Many things have changed over the years, but not our commitment to the best service, freshest local ingredients, and exceptional dining and drinking experience we provide.
